  • Matiq Labs is a learning and design organization dedicated to cultivating equity, innovation, and sustainability in education. We support educators and systems leaders through immersive learning experiences that center liberatory design, relational trust, and community-rooted solutions.

  • Matiq Labs' Communities of Practice are intentional learning spaces where participants come together to explore complex issues in education through a lens of equity and transformation. Each series builds on real-world challenges and centers collective care, reflection, and courageous leadership.

  • Our CoPs are designed for:

    • Pre-service teachers and faculty at colleges/universities

    • School and district educators, coaches, and leaders

    • Independent educators and changemakers committed to equity and systemic impact

  • Item descriEach CoP cycle consists of 10 sessions, each lasting 120 minutes, typically held monthly over the course of the year. Sessions include facilitated dialogue, collaborative learning activities, and curated resources for deeper reflection and application.

  • There are three ways to engage:

    • University Model – through our partnerships with schools of education

    • School District Model – via collaborations with districts or CMOs

    • Teacher PD Cohort – apply directly through our national open call

  • Core themes include:

    • Relational trust and collective care

    • Student voice and agency

    • Data and equity

    • Adaptive leadership and systems change

    • Storytelling, sustainability, and healing-centered practices

  • Fees vary depending on the model (university, district, or direct application). We work with partners to subsidize costs where possible and offer limited scholarships for our national PD cohort.

  • Yes. Participants who complete all 10 sessions receive a certificate of completion and become part of our growing Matiq Labs Alumni Network, with opportunities for continued learning, leadership, and collaboration.

  • CoPs are facilitated by experienced educators, equity designers, and thought leaders with deep roots in liberatory practice, trauma-informed care, and community-centered change.
